This Creamy Instant Pot Steel Cut Oatmeal is easy to make, heart-healthy, and cooks for only 4 minutes! A perfect breakfast for busy mornings or meal prep.

  • 2 cups Steel-Cut Oats (NOT Rolled or Quick Oats)
  • 56 cups Non-Dairy Milk or Water*
  • ½ tsp Salt

  1. Add the Oats, liquid, and Salt to the Instant Pot and stir well. Close the lid, set the valve to sealing, and cook on Manual High pressure 4 minutes.
  2. Once 4 minutes have passed, immediately press “Stop/Cancel” turn off the Instant Pot (do not let it go to Keep Warm), and let the pressure naturally release for 20 minutes.
  3. Turn the pressure valve to Venting, release the lid, and stir the Oats well to evenly distribute the liquid; there may be a little more resting on top of the Oats. Serve as desired; leftovers will keep in the fridge for up to one week, and can be reheated!

  • I like to do a 50-50 mix of Non-Dairy Milk to Water, but you can either increase or decrease the ratio to make your Oatmeal more or less creamy. If you like thicker Oats, use 5 cups of liquid; if you want them to be thinner, use 6!
  • For Chocolate Raspberry Oatmeal: stir in 1 tbsp Cacao Powder and 1 tbsp Maple Syrup into your bowl of Oatmeal, then top with fresh or frozen Raspberries
  • For Strawberry Banana Oatmeal: stir in ¼ – ½ tsp of Ground Cinnamon into your Oatmeal, then top with Banana slices and fresh Strawberries
  • For Chunky Monkey Oatmeal: top your Oatmeal with 1 sliced banana, 2 tbsp of chopped Walnuts, and 1 tbsp of Dairy-Free Chocolate Chips
