This Vegan Seven Layer Dip is made of layers of Refried Beans, Guacamole, Queso, and more…making it a perfect appetizer or party treat!
If you haven’t had Seven Layer Dip before, you haven’t truly lived, my friends. Okay…that is definitely an overstatement. BUT Seven Layer Dip is very very yummy, and I’m happy to say that I have now made it vegan.
If you’ve never heard of Seven Layer Dip before…it is, essentially, a dip of seven layers. Shocker! I will say that in my semi-extensive research, these layers do vary.. However, it usually involves a combination of Refried Beans, Guacamole, and Salsa — but then the toppings/layers seem to deviate.
Seven Layer Dip also typically has a layer of Sour Cream and/or Cheddar Cheese. But as we all know, this is a vegan food blog 😉 And since I am titling this post the ULTIMATE Seven Layer Dip, I decided to nix both of those “layers”…and replace them with Chunky Vegan Queso. Because really now, can you ever go wrong with Queso? I think not!
Another great thing about this dip is that you can put in as little or as much effort as you’d like. I decided to go the homemade route and make my Refried Beans, Guacamole, and Queso from scratch, but you can also use storebought! And yes, they do in fact sell Vegan Queso in stores. (Though, I think mine is better)
A Few Final Thoughts:
- I like to serve this Dip in a large glass container, as I find it looks the most visually appealing! Otherwise, you cannot see all of the layers.
- If you’d like to increase/decrease the amount of dip for various social settings, this recipe is great for that! Just stick to the same general ratio of ingredients, and you’re good to go
- Got leftovers? They’ll last in the fridge for up to 6 days. I like to serve mine with Rice and Beans, alongside Burritos, or even on top of Taco Salad bowls!

This is an awesome dip! The flavours were stunning I used your queso recipe, used homemade salsa and a pea guacamole (we don’t eat avacados) and it all blended so nicely. Our carnivore friends loved it as well.

Sounds awesome! Glad everyone loved it!
Hi Caitlin, do you serve this cold? Because in the vegan queso recipe it says it’s best to serve it warm. But I don’t think that would work with the guacamole in this case. How do you do it?
Yes, it is served cold! The Queso is only one small layer and is fine chilled in this case
What size bowl did you use? This looks awesome!!!!
Hi Jill! I believe it was a 7 cup pyrex
This looks absolutely fabulous! My mom has already planned several summer parties so now I know the perfect thing to make which everyone will enjoy. One thing that particularly stands out to me about this multiple layer dips is how all the different flavors come together so well. And what an interesting choice to add olives!
